Rail's Little Jake
      The first day I laid eyes on who was to be, Bo’Darc Dixie Fiddle, was the first time I saw Rail’s Little Jake.  Although impressive that day, it was not until later that year that I really found a new respect for Jake. 
       My first hunt with him was here in north central Oklahoma.  We went to a place that I had hunted for years and that day Jake found 3 different coveys that I didn’t even know existed.  That same season we made a trip to north central Kansas and hunted hard for 3 days.  Jake was the “man” on that hunt as well.  We totally exhausted every dog we hauled, Jake included, yet he never failed to put on a show and find birds for us.
       Jake, in my opinion, was the most prepotent dog from the mating of CH. Fiddler’s Ace to Candy Rail.  He was bred considerably less than his full brother, Cooper’s Dusty Rail; nevertheless Jake’s mark was left on every pup he sired and those same offspring from Jake went on to be tremendous producers and gun dogs as well.
