Rail's Little Jake |
![]() |
The first day I laid eyes on who was to be, Bo’Darc Dixie Fiddle, was the first time I saw Rail’s Little Jake. Although impressive that day, it was not until later that year that I really found a new respect for Jake. | |||

My first hunt with him was here in north central Oklahoma.
We went to a place that I had hunted for years and that day Jake
found 3 different coveys that I didn’t even know existed. That same season we made a trip to north central Kansas and
hunted hard for 3 days.
Jake was the “man” on that hunt as well.
We totally exhausted every dog we hauled, Jake included, yet he
never failed to put on a show and find birds for us. |

Jake, in my opinion, was the most prepotent dog from the mating of CH. Fiddler’s Ace to Candy Rail. He was bred considerably less than his full brother, Cooper’s Dusty Rail; nevertheless Jake’s mark was left on every pup he sired and those same offspring from Jake went on to be tremendous producers and gun dogs as well. |
